At its most basic definition, a field is a defined area. We have farmer’s fields and we have fields of study (a punny joke in our family is that some researcher is “outstanding in his field”). When we hear someone talk about energy fields or morphogenetic fields, however, the term means more than that.

I’m guessing you’re talking about the process of manifesting your desires, or using “the Law of Attraction.”
The principle to remember is that we always get what we’re feeling and focusing on. If we’re focusing on how wonderful life is and really feeling it, we get more of that. If we’re focusing on how bad we feel because we don’t have what we thought we wanted or can’t pay our bills, we get more of that.
So, let’s say you’ve been imagining how wonderful it feels to be successful in your work and having just the right people and resources show up at just the right time and you feel wonderful whenever you think about it. Then you see an unexpected bill and you’re plunged into angst, wondering how you’re going to pay it and why you, etc. So you’ve just told the universe that you want both—some success and some angst.
